Some moments it seems like time just slows down
Life feels uncertain coming around
Adam was walking, circumstances lit a fuse
Up the street, a confrontation flared
A man was angry, a woman was scared
She was pleading, Adam knew he had to choose
Oh how I wish there were a way to amend
The beginning of an untimely end

Adam stood tall, he hoped to de-escalate
The man turned fast, did Adam see it too late?
It all came so quick, there was no time to react
The force of the bullet shoved Adam to a wall
Then the man shot himself, collapsing in a fall
Life in his eyes faded at the moment of impact
Oh how I wish there were a way to amend
The beginning of an untimely end

Two promising lives, what good might they create?
Drawn together to play out a tragic scene
Cast as hero and villain, victims of fate
At the crossroads of Stolen Dreams

Some may have felt a quiet alarm
Or in the air heard a mournful song
Moved to tears, unsure why they wept
Unwelcome news invaded life the next day
A friend they loved had been torn away
How could this happen, It felt too wrong to accept
Oh how I wish there were a way to amend
