What To Believe
What To Believe
All around me was wonder
And the light set me free
Then I grew and discovered
Life spreads out like a tree
I learned about the shadow
That carries the burden of shame
I heard there are two sides to life
Half is pure, half is stain
I chose the wisdom of love
I embraced the power to be
I felt the light deep inside
Now it’s clear, I know what to believe
For many years I wore that shadow
Hiding behind a mask of pride
I hurt the people who loved me
It felt like something in me died
I learned to cut through illusions
To wield the truth like a knife
I traveled many bitter roads,
Then found sweetness in the magic of life
I chose the wisdom of love
I embraced the power to be
I felt the light deep inside
Now it’s clear, I know what to believe
Some people say we should live with the shadow
Before us day and night
Though I found when I turn around
With the shadow behind, I am home in the light
I chose the wisdom of love
I embraced the power to be
I felt the light deep inside
Now it’s clear, I know what to believe
