What To Believe

What To Believe

All around him was wonder
And the light set him free
He grew and discovered
Life spreads out like a tree
Learned about the shadow
That carries the burden of shame
Heard there are two sides to life
Half is pure, half is stain

He chose the wisdom of love
Embraced the power to be
Felt the light deep inside
Made it clear just what to believe

For many years he wore that shadow
Hiding behind a mask of pride
Hurt the people who loved me
Felt like something in me died
Learned to cut through illusions
To wield the truth like a knife
Traveled many bitter roads,
Found sweetness in the magic of life

He chose the wisdom of love
Embraced the power to be
Felt the light deep inside
Made clear, I know what to believe

Some people said he should walk in the shadow
Before him day and night
Though he found when he turn around
With the shadow behind, he is home in the light

He chose the wisdom of love
Embraced the power to be
Felt the light deep inside
Made clear, I know what to believe
